5 of 6 people found the following evaluation helpful: For being such a controversial course, Lisa taught evolution objectively and fairly. She was respective of student beliefs throughout the semester. She was also very friendly towards even those more difficult students who seem to have an irrelevant question nearly every day, yet she remained on task. We did get behind on the syllabus, but she only tested material that was actually covered in lecture. There were clicker quizzes in class, but she offered more than enough to be able to get the maximum points, so there wasn't a penalty for attendance if you only missed a few classes. Tests were all multiple choice. |

3 of 3 people found the following evaluation helpful: Angeloni is a good professor... but the class is very boring. You have to go to class to get all the material, and if you do that, the tests are a breeze. The weekly homework is a pain in the neck, but also very easy. |

3 of 3 people found the following evaluation helpful: Angeloni is a terrible teacher. She is a horribly boring lecturer, and the way she presents the material makes it hard to learn. She uses powerpoint slides and also makes them available for downloading from WebCT, but she erases the text of the slides so you have to go to class and fill it in. However, she can't deviate from her slides at all otherwise she gets horribly lost. She doesn't know how to answer any questions at all. The material is not hard; this is a pretty easy class. However, Angeloni is not a good teacher for this class. Find someone else to take it from. |

3 of 3 people found the following evaluation helpful: Dr. Angeloni was very young, but knew her stuff. She was great for an introductory evolution class, but it seemed a little too much. Most people fell asleep in her class or didn't come because you could get the notes off of webCT and she seemed to drone on and rarely had anything additional to say outside of her slides. I had quite a background in evolution so I didn't have to study really to get a high A in the class, but if you didn't know evolution well you'd be set with her study guides for each lecture with key terms and questions. The grade was based off of two preliminary exams, the final, and 9 problem sets assigned about every week with questions pertaining to that week's lectures. The problem sets gave you a list of four questions and you chose two of them to answer. After exam day she would go over the test /word for word/ and explain every question... which was a waste of time if you aced the test. She tried to spark the interest of everyone, though, and even if she wasn't the easiest to pay attention to she did a very good job explaining and clarifying ideas and questions. I would recommend her, but bring a pillow! |

2 of 2 people found the following evaluation helpful: Dr. Angeloni is a very good professor. She is quite an intellictual in this field. In every lecture, she spent time to answer any questions, which often put her behind her lecture schedule. She went above and beyond her call of duty to make sure everyone understood the material. You do have to go to the lectures because the highlighted material she presents are the answers to the questions on the tests!!! So go to lecture and take notes, and you will get an A. |

1 of 1 people found the following evaluation helpful: I took Into to Evo with Angeloni spring semester 2010 and really enjoyed the class. It was a little more basic than I was hoping, but she did a good job of making the topics interesting. No one I know disliked her as a teacher and her tests were not that tough. Overall, a good course and a good teacher. |

1 of 1 people found the following evaluation helpful: I thought Angeloni was great. She had really organized notes & always tried to present info so you could understand. I found her class interesting and informative. The material did get overwhelming towards the end with the culmative final, but overall great class & I would definitely recommend taking it with her. I had previously tried to take the course in the Fall with Webb & Simmons- Warning: Don't do it!... Angeloni makes everything much easier to understand. |

1 of 2 people found the following evaluation helpful: Overall, Dr. Angeloni was a good professor. She presented the material clearly and was willing to explain things multiple times until students understood. There were 9 homework assignments (lowest HW grade is dropped) that are fairly easy and come straight from the lectures. The exams were all multiple choice/true-false and follow the material pretty well. I did not buy the textbook and did not miss it. My only criticism of the course was that it was soooo slooow (fitting, though), I think mainly because it was 200 level. |

1 of 3 people found the following evaluation helpful: Drill yourself on her lecture slides and going to class does help with understanding the material presented. If anything is unclear, see her in office hours and she will gladly take all the time that is needed to help you. A good teacher, the subject of evolution can be a bit dry though. |
