CS 440 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 3:34 pm, Jan 27, 2004 |
Awesome. Anderson is highly knowledgeable and interesting as a professor. The amount of material I learned in 440 is staggering. His lectures are clear, he's prepared for class, and he knows what he's talking about. Questions are welcomed, and he's understanding about assignments. One of the best.

CS 301 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 5:28 pm, Jan 22, 2003 |
CS301 is by no means a fun course, but I got through it with the help of Dr. Anderson. If I had any other professor in the CS department, I'm afraid I might have not done so well. Dr. Anderson is a funny, casual guy with a helpful attitude, and is sympathetic to the dry course material. The fact that there was only one midterm made it difficult to bring my grade up after I bombed that, but a good weight is assigned to the homeworks (and redos) so that at least you'd have a chance. I went to his office hours every week and he was almost always there to help, and was generous in dividing his time and walking through problems step-by-step for us. The programming assignments became easier as the semester went along and they actually brought up my grade toward the end. I'm glad CS301 is over with, but I'm very glad Dr. Anderson was my professor because I got a decent grade and I even learned a bit!

CS 301 Graduate Student Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 4:52 pm, Dec 17, 2002 |
I agree with the others who say to take one of Chuck's classes if you get the chance. CS301 was meaty, but it was fun. I quickly learned that if I couldn't understand something from the book, I would certainly get my question answered in class. Several times I went into class feeling like a dope because I couldn't understand a concept, and I came out of class feeling like a genius because I understood it.

CS 253 Junior Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 12:48 pm, Sep 30, 2002 |
Holy crap dude, Anderson is a straight up badass!! I learned more in one semester about code than I have in my previous 3. Anderson is laid back, assigns fun and interesting homework, and presents lecture material in a format easy to follow and understand. He compliments students when they ask good questions, or suggest an interesting approach to solving a problem. If you go see him in his office hours, he'll make you feel like you are talking to a peer instead of a professor. Anderson is a top notch professor and a chill guy to boot. Take as many classes with him as possible, you wont regret it!

CS 301 Senior Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 1:06 pm, Sep 27, 2002 |
Chuck Anderson was quite possibly one of the best professors I've ever had. He took an extremely difficult subject to handle and made it seem easier through his ways of presenting the concepts. On top of having a very firm grasp of the material himself, he was often funny and always very laid back. He always made sure every question asked was answered before moving on with the material.
