ANEQ 101 Freshman Grade Earned: C Required (Major) 4:35 pm, Jun 13, 2010 |
The tests are crazy hard. I ended up with a 79 in the class. Be prepared to study a lot and get used to having different teachers everyday.

Professor Denniston is organized and great at presenting and a pretty nice guy when you don't have a problem. He does give an impression of being a bit full of himself and has a habit of throwing personal questions about himself onto his exams. Not really an issue by itself but when dealing with him outside of class his poor attitude and huge ego did become a problem. He is extremely strict when it comes to make-up accomodations. He demonstrated a hot temper between classes one day when he raised his voice to a female student because her mother had called him after he refused to allow her to make up and exam. Many students were out sick with Swine Flu. There was such an issue with him refusing to make up the missed exam that he finally decided to give the entire class the option to retake that particular exam. The whole thing was just tense and unpleasant.

ANEQ 102 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 7:37 pm, Apr 25, 2009 |
Awesome teacher very entertaining to listen to. I definitely recommend the class if you have any interest in horses at all. Every class a different professor will come in and talk about a specific subject of horses, genetics, handling, safety, reproduction, breeds, jobs, etc, so its easy to pay attention. The tests are fairly easy if you come to class and study. He likes to add questions for a boost that are obvious for instance he told us the first day of class he chipped his tooth running and falling and that was on the test. Great class, take it for fun!

AN 102 Freshman Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 12:56 pm, May 17, 2007 |
This class was unique because it was taught by several different instructors, and Dr. Denniston was the coordinator. He was an excellent teacher! He explained material very well (a little long-winded sometimes), and made class very interesting. I made sure to never miss when he was teaching. There are a few WebCT quizzes, a midterm, a final, and work in the lab. Overall, he is a very good teacher, and if you put the time in, you will be very satisfied with the outcome.

AN 245 Sophomore Grade Earned: A Required (Support) 4:31 pm, Jun 27, 2006 |
Dr. D is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had! He is very informative, but at the same time makes class fun! He also cares about his students and works hard to learn every students name! If you put the time you will get a good grade.

AN 245 Sophomore Grade Earned: B Required (Major) 6:08 pm, May 8, 2003 |
Dr. Denniston will mature into an excelen instructor. As his second semester of teaching he still goes way to fast in lecture not allowing ample time for note taking. You can expect an interesting and informative class now wether or not you get all of the notes down from his lecture or slides is to be debated. If you don't have an understanding of equine conformation before taking this class you will leave with that understanding and be able to apply it to the different breed specialities. To bad that AN 245 will be no more. It was a great class. And yes the second Sunday in May is the best day of the year. Go baby Go
