Jamie's ECON204 lectures and examples closely followed the required readings for the course. Reading the book was adequate preparation for every exam. Tests were fair, and Jamie's pre-test homework assignments often closely mirrored the types of problems encountered on the actual test. I attended office hours only once, but Jamie was helpful in answering my question. An entire class period before each test is set aside for answering student questions and going over important topics for the test. Errors in lecture examples occurred fairly often, but Jamie would realize and correct these errors within the lecture. I did not encounter some of the complaints others have listed. Overall, I would rate Jamie as an above average instructor.

He's a really good teacher and his class wasn't too difficult. As long as you go to class and participate you're guaranteed a good grade. He really made an effort to get to know everyone and learn everyone's names, which is way better than the professers who just stand up there and lecture. He made everything really easy to understand and going to class was definitely more interesting than just reading the book. His tests are based on his notes, so you can get A's on the tests and essays without even opening the book. This was a very interesting class, and I learned a lot from his class discussions and notes.

Jamie made plenty of errors in his lectures but usually corrected them during class. He posted a general outline of each section for a test which you just fill out as he goes through it during class. He was unclear a lot, but overall a good teacher. It is important to go to class or at least devour the book, one of the two will help you out for the tests. His review sessions the day before tests are really helpful because he only gives the review sheet for the test to those who come to lecture.

Honestly I don't know how this professor got hired at CSU! I wouldn't recommend him to anyone who has to take macro. He basically reads the book to you, except the book does a 10 times better job teaching you. Students constantly correct him and all of his tests and homework assignments before tests have numerous errors that confused me more on the material. His tests are ridiculous! He doesn't use real life examples about the economy, which makes it harder to understand. His tests only have 15 multiple choice questions worth 60 points. Do the math thats 4 points per question and there are 2 short answer questions on the back worth 20 points each! So if you miss one your basically screwed for the test! If you actually want to learn macro pick another teacher...

He didnt know how to clearly explain things and he would jump around from subject to subject making it really hard to follow him. His TA was ridiculous and whenever you asked his TA a question he would say he didnt know and keep moving on without answerign the question. I was givin wrong information by my TA, as well as the other students in the class, and when i confronted the teacher and told him what happened with the TA he said that there was nothing he could do about it. I had also gotten help from the TA a few times and attended class everyday, i got a 79% and he didnt bump it up to an 80 so i ended up getting a c in the class and had to retake it. HE SUCKS!!!!

You can tell Jamie really enjoys teaching and I dunno if you can say that about every teacher. He goes through everything really clearly, which is really important if you have to take an econ class. He also has a supple young buttocks which jiggles ever so slightly when he writes on the board. Okay, that last part was unnecessary, but I did enjoy the class.

Overall, his lecture material wasn't very organized nor was very reliable. His many grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors that he had on his lecture notes were really annoying. Many times I found myself trying to review my lecture notes only to find I had no idea what he meant. Or, I would be distracted in figuring out how to clarify his notes and not pay attention to what he was saying. Another thing that irked me was that, on a number of occasions, he had to correct himself from a previous lecture because he had confused what he had said. The TA also had to point out several mathematical errors he made during lecture as well.

Worst teacher I've ever had. He's very cocky and believes that only his answers are correct. Yet, there were numerous times where students had to correct his work. No one has any idea what he's talking about half the time. He uses lame examples to help you further understand the material, but in reality it's confusing ALL of us. He fails to use realistic examples period. I get more out of going to recitation and having the TA explain the material than going to class and listening to him talk about how he has a Ph.D. If you enjoy teaching yourself out of the book, take this course. If not, find another teacher.
