4 of 4 people found the following evaluation helpful: TAKE HER!!!! Susan is a great teacher! I would recommend her class to anyone wanting to take a history class for any reason! She is great at helping students with find their difficulties and working with them to help find a solution! The biggest advice is to talk to her if you are having trouble at any time! Our midterm went from in class to take home with an extra week because one student had a problem with the time of the test! She was great if you let her know your problems she is more lenient! She was good at helping students who were not history majors and did not teach as if everyone was either! Great teacher so take her if you are able! Was this rating helpful to you? |

1 of 1 people found the following evaluation helpful: Susan is a pretty good professor. She is willing to help anyone and encourages you to ask her for help not just the TAs. The class is based off of powerpoint slides and I took notes on them but they weren't very helpful to me. She does give study guides before quizzes and exams though so as long as you fill those out and know the information as well as go to any offered review sessions you will do fine. Not an amazing professor but very helpful and nice. Easy class to get through with a moderate amount of effort. Was this rating helpful to you? |

Susan is a very nice and intelligent person. She is willing to help you with anything and is very flexible. However, I find it very difficult to become engaged with the material. Her class is more focused on who said what than what is actually going on in the time period. In her notes she just lists authors, writers, and philosophers. I want to learn about gender in the time period, not about what Foucault wrote. She should use these writings as a base, not a focus.
